Distant Object Productions films new species of lizard

LoluiIslandSkinkNewbury, UK - 19th October 2009: Distant Object Productions today announced that Stephen Spawls, a leading herpetologist, confirmed the Lolui island skink discovered by Rungwe Kingdon is a species new to science. It is also Uganda's only endemic reptile species and will hopefully be named after the island it was found on.

Distant Object Productions (Ben Mitchell) was the first to film the lizard during the production of 'Rock Music Rock Art' in Feb 2007. Stephen Spawls, author of 'Pocket Guide to the Reptiles and Amphibians of East Africa' now hopes to undertake further research to discover more about this elusive species.
