Distant Object now playing in Times Square
May 2011: Distant Object Productions today announced a collaboration with the American Society of Hypertension (ASH) to use footage from the documentary "Understanding High Blood Pressure" for a public service announcement to be broadcast on the CBS screen in Times Square, New York.
ASH is the largest organization of hypertension researchers and health care providers in the United States committed to eliminating hypertension and its consequences. Raising awareness is a key part of its activities and when ASH approached Distant Object to use some of the stunning animations created by Hybrid Animation as a backdrop to a public services announcement they were delighted to be involved in the project.
Martin Briggs-Watson, Executive Producer of Understanding High Blood Pressure commented, "The ultimate aim of the film was to raise awareness about hypertension and to help patients understand the condition. For parts of the film to develop a life of their own and continue that cause is marvellous. For it to be appearing on a 26 foot screen and helping raise awareness in the centre of New York is fantastic".
The public service announcement is currently playing 18 times a day on the CBS screen (located on 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenue).
In addition ASH also decided to use the footage as a key part of the home page of their website www.ash-us.org.
The full DVD of Understanding High Blood Pressure is available via the Experts in Health website.
